Rates, Fees and Billing
Why is it so cheap?
world:link uses its large customer base to negotiate highly discounted rates from international carriers. And since world:link's services are marketed over the Internet and by word-of-mouth, there's no need for a large advertising budget. This allows us to pass the savings on to our customers.
Is there some kind of basic fee I have to pay?
No, there are no basic fees or monthly charges. So if, for example, you go away on holiday and do not make any calls for 8 weeks, you pay nothing.
I see the rate, but how much will I pay if I talk for 10 minutes?
It's simple to calculate. Just multiply the rate by the number of minutes you talk. There are no other charges at all. So if you talk for 10 minutes, your bill will be 10 times the rate. That's all.
What increments are calls charged in?
With world:link the minimum charge is for 1 minute. After that, calls are charged in 1-minute increments. The rate does not change, so if you call for 2 minutes, you pay 2 times the rate for that call.
Is there anything else I have to pay besides the rates for my calls?
No. You pay only for your calls - nothing else. If you don't call, you don't pay.
What are the rates for domestic calls?
Please select rates page from the menu above.
Do I receive a monthly statement? If so when?
If you make more than ¥2,000 worth of calls in a month you will receive a monthly statement approximately 3 weeks after the billing period. Statements usually arrive at the end of the month and cover the previous month's calls.
What currency will I be charged in? How much will the rate be in my currency?
All calls are charged to your credit card in Japanese yen. Your bank/credit card company then converts to the currency of your card, and they also set the exchange rate. world:link does not set any exchange rates. Your card will usually be charged on the 15th of the subsequent month of usage.
I don't have a credit card. Can I use world:link?
No, you cannot. We only accept payment by credit card.

Using world:link For Domestic Calls From a Keitai
Do I have to register my keitai with world:link 00XX in order to use this service?
If you have already registered your keitai for world:link's international service, you do not have to register it again. All keitai phones registered with world:link can automatically use the new service. If you do not know if your keitai is registered with world:link, simply try it. If the call goes through, it means you are registered.
Can I simply add "00XX" to all the numbers stored in my keitai memory?
Yes. Change all the stored numbers in your keitai so that 00XX is before each number. This way you won't have to remember to dial 00XX each time you make a call.
Will I get a separate bill from my keitai provider for the calls that I make through world:link 00XX?
No. You will not get billed by your provider for any calls you make through world:link. Of course you will still get your monthly fee from the keitai provider. Since you are not using your keitai provider's service, switch to the lowest plan available.
